a letter from our new member educator
|
Hi everyone!
My name is Lauren Meehan, and I’m beyond excited to serve as the New Member Educator for Pi Alpha Chi this year! I am currently a freshman studying Secondary English Language Arts Education. In my free time, you can find me either hanging out in the Pi Chi room, reading a book, swing dancing, or hanging out with friends and family. I am grateful for what Pi Chi has given me. Pi Chi gave me so many friends and sisters for life! Spending time with my sorority sisters in a catholic based sorority has helped me grow deeper in my faith. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to be in Pi Chi! I couldn't ask for a better sisterhood! If you have any questions about the New Member Education program, please reach out to me at [email protected] or 815-263-7755. I am so excited to experience this sisterhood with you! |
New Member Education Program
When you join Pi Alpha Chi and go through the Genesis Ceremony, you transition from a Potential New Member to an Official New Member of Pi Alpha Chi. Your journey begins with a dynamic new member education program designed to make your transition to college smooth, to teach you the ins and outs of membership, and to foster bonding with new sisters. Each week, your New Member Educator will lead you and your pledge class through team building exercises and discussions, with the help of other active members, in order to prepare you for your Initiation. Along the way, New Members are also encouraged to attend faith, sisterhood, social, and philanthropic events. After the Genesis Ceremony, all New Members are required to attend the new member education program.
Highlights Of The Program
- Study hours (with snacks!) to promote academic success.
- Sister dates to get to know upperclasswomen.
- Big/Little week, which matches each New Member to a "big" sister and an extended family of upperclasswomen.
- Exploring what makes Pi Chi unique and beautiful to Greek Life with your New Member Class.
